Jill Trappler
Last year I did a stocktake of all the work in my studio. I found drawing and painting made when I was 15. This year I will be 65; image making has been the hand that has guided me and the hand that I have held even as a child.
I have a studio practise that is my free space; I make images with beautifully manufactured materials and with found objects. In this space I listen to my own voice; I work with impulse and I am guided by experience.
I am a socially active artist too; the communal nature of these experiences allows me interact and exchange ideas and skills with artists from many and various backgrounds.
In my project work and teaching I can build bridges and create opportunities.
In making and sharing images, privately and with others we are able to reflect and to dream.
